Antenatal Clinics

Clinics are held, with the Midwives, as follows:

  • Clifton Medical Centre – Tuesday & Wednesday 1:00pm to 5:00pm, 1:00pm to 3:45pm.

Health Promotion Clinics

The doctors and practice nurses will advise you on a healthy lifestyle. We currently run Asthma, Heart Disease Prevention, Andrology, Weight Management and Diabetic Clinics.

Patients over 75 are entitled to request an annual consultation to assess any health care needs they may have.

Health Visitors

The Health Visitors can be contacted by telephone on 01709 336498 between 9.00am and 10.00am.

They are based at the Place, Coleridge Road. An answering machine is in operation outside these times and calls are monitored regularly.

Child Health Surveillance and Immunisations

We provide child health surveillance and immunisations according to national and local guidelines.

This is done by a number of different team members:
• 8 week baby checks are carried out by the doctors
• Childhood immunisations are done by our practice nurses
• Weighing monitoring and other health care checks are carried out by our health visitors.
• Health visitors are no longer in attendance at baby clinic, see above for contact details
• Appointments with nurses for immunisations will be made by Child Health, appointments will be received in the post

Clinical Trials

Clifton Medical Centre runs a Clinical Trials Unit which is regulated under the NIHR (National Institute for Clinical Research) and work with South Yorkshire and Humber Primary Care Research Network (PCRN) to deliver the studies we are involved in.

We have run several different studies over the last 10 years in Respiratory Care (Asthma and COPD), Diabetes, Obesity, Kidney Disease, Psoriasis, Atrial Fibrillation, Cancer, Dementia, Unemployment and osteoporosis.

We continue to run studies in most chronic disease, heart disease, stroke, diabetes, weight loss, depression and many others.

if you are interested in any studies, you can call and add your name to our database for patients interested in Research studies, and we can then contact you if we have anything suitable, or you can contact us to let us know you are not interested and we can add this to your record.

We also help other Research Companies find patients who may be suitable for trials. Clifton Medical Centre is a PIC site (Participant Identification Site) and we may share your secure data for this purpose, we always have a data sharing agreement in place and follow all GDPR rules, if you wish to opt out of this please call us and we can add this to your records, but you can also do this yourself at Your Data Matters

Mental Health Team

Please contact our reception team who will be pleased to assist you with accessing this service.

Interpretation Services

If you do not speak English, or if you are deaf, hard of hearing, or deaf/blind, you can have interpretation services provided for you at no charge. Tell the person helping you that you need an interpreter.

Emergency Dental Service

If you are a Rotherham resident and need advice or treatment for a dental emergency such as persistent bleeding, swelling, trauma or pain that cannot be controlled:
