When We Are Closed
In case of emergency outside normal working hours (08:00 – 18:00) or when surgery is closed telephone 111. You will be put through to the out-of-hours service. Please allow plenty of time for an answer. You may be offered advice, an opportunity to visit an emergency surgery, or a home visit if necessary. This service is commissioned by NHS Rotherham.
NHS 111 is the new three-digit telephone service that replaces NHS Direct, to improve access to NHS urgent care services. Patients can use this number when they need medical help or advice and it's not urgent enough to call 999. NHS 111 operates 24/7, 365 days per year and is free to use from a landline and a mobile.

The Urgent and Emergency Centre at Rotherham Hospital is now open - It is a single site for emergency or urgent care needs and is staffed by members of primary care and A&E clinicians.
It is also the base for GP out of hours service and care co-ordination centre so all urgent care services will be in one place.
Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.
In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
