Additional doctors work in the Practice from time to time who have their own special interests. The Practice also undertakes the supervision of junior (Foundation) doctors and may teach medical students.
Practice nurses are qualified and registered nurses. They can help with health issues such as family planning, healthy living advice, blood pressure checks and dressings. The practice nurses run clinics for long-term health conditions such as asthma or diabetes, minor ailment clinics and carry out cervical smears.
The Care Co-ordination Centre will be the single point of access for the District Nurse and Community Matron Service. This service means that you will contact the Care Co-ordination Centre instead of contacting your District Nurse or Community Matron directly.
If you require a visit from the District Nurse or Community Matron, or have any immediate concerns, please contact us on 01709 426600. This is a 24 hours a day, 7 days a week service.
By contacting the centre you will be able to speak to a member of the team who will listen to your concerns, take your details and where necessary refer you to a qualified NHS nurse who can offer you any advice and support where necessary.

Our managers are involved in managing all of the business aspects of the practice such as making sure that the right systems are in place to provide a high quality of patient care, human resources, finance, patient safety, premises and equipment and information technology.
Both managers are happy accept any constructive comments or complaints you may have but please be aware that we may not be immediately available due to practice commitments. We will always endeavour to contact you by telephone or letter to discuss the issues you wish to raise.
Before any caller is put through to one of the practice managers the reception team are instructed to obtain some basic details of the nature of the call. This is to avoid wasting both the patient and managers time. It has been known that patients have contacted the managers for blood test results or prescription requests. Our reception teams have more expertise in these areas and are happy to help.
We do have suggestion/comment forms available at our reception desks and in the waiting rooms. Once completed these are passed to the managers.
Denise Hicks leads our support team which comprises of Receptionists, Secretaries and Administrative staff, all of whom work hard to maintain a quality service for our patients.
Barry Wiles primarily deals with the business side of the partnership. He is our liaison officer with NHS Rotherham.
Our receptionists are here to help you. They are fully trained and do a difficult job well. Receptionists will arrange appointments either with the doctor or a practice nurse, and will take requests for home visits or arrange for you to speak to a doctor or nurse on the telephone. They can give patients results of laboratory tests. Sometimes they may need to ask one or two questions to help judge the urgency of your request, or how best to help you, but the information you give will always been treated in confidence as they are bound by the same codes of conduct as the doctors. Please treat all staff with respect. If we are all polite to each other any problems can be resolved both quickly and amicably.
The district nurses can be contacted by telephone on 01709 423936 between 09.00 and 10.00 or by fax on 01709 302395. They are based at the Doncaster Gate. An answering machine is in operation outside these times and calls are monitored regularly.
The health visitors can be contacted by telephone on 01709 423286 between 09.00 and 10.00. They are based at the Place, Coleridge Road. An answering machine is in operation outside these times and calls are monitored regularly.
